PDA's allow us rapid access to the information that we need throughout the day. They are relatively inexpensive and offer a way for us to carry electronic books, databases, programs and much more in our pocket. They are wonderful new tools for our profession.

iPhone Apps Commentary
I am receiving more and more questions about products for the iPhone. The only iSilo eBook that has been formatted just for use on the iPhone so far is the Plumb's Veterinary Drug Handbook. However, all of the products which require iSilo will work on the iPhone. The only difference in a version for the iPhone is that links in the document are spaced out more easily so that you can select them with your finger. This is in contrast to the other platforms which use a stylus.
I am working on iPhone versions of the ANMLDR Emergency Drug Calculator and the ANMLDR Dosage Calculator. If these go over well, then I will attempt a version of ANMLDR Calcs for the iPhone. I will also be creating iPhone versions of many of the iSilo based eBooks such as the Nerdbook (and others).
These 4 products are available as of today (2/12/09) as native applications. This means that they are available to install onto your iPhone. They are no longer on a subscription basis. You
will receive free updates for 1 year. If a new edition is released, this is not considered an update. So, the good news is you can "own" your copy of the programs for the iPhone and they
will not time out in 1 year as they did previously.
