How to Purchase

This formulary is a result of my desire to have a definitive reptile and amphibian formulary that can be modified or added to at any time. I do a lot of reptile and amphibian work and was frustrated at the lack of a good formulary for these animal groups and the rapidly changing nature of reptile medicine makes written formularies obsolete fairly quickly. I did a literature search through the most recent texts and the recent journals of the Assoc. for Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians (ARAV) to get my dosage information.

I’m happy with the results. I hope you will be too.

Features:

  1. Drugs are broken down into 3 groups: Reptiles, Amphibians, and Misc.
    I included a miscellaneous section so that you can put in any drug for any species. In this section I’ve included some of my favorite mammalian drugs/dosages which aren’t readily available in other formularies.
  2. All information is fully editable by the user. You can change dosages, add notes, delete drugs, and add new drugs to your hearts desire.
  3. Database is fully searchable by either Generic name or Trade name.
  4. Database can be sorted in a variety of ways. By animal group (reptiles, amphibians, misc.), alphabetically by generic or trade names, by categories (antibiotics, anesthetics, analgesics, etc.).
  5. "Dose-it" is my built in calculator for this program. It is one of my favorite features. You can look up a drug, tap the "dose-it" button and it will take you to a page where you can plug in the animal’s weight in lbs. or kgs, plug in the drug dosage, and plug in the drug concentration. Hit calculate and viola you have your dosage for the patient. Saves you from having to pull out you calculator as well as your Palm.

The number one after the title implies there will be a JVet Exotics Formulary 2. I do plan on making a second formulary to include avian and exotic mammals. I have a variety of other applications in the works----look for them for sale here on ANMLDR.
