The database
contains 318 viruses with their names (including alternate names and acronyms),
family, species, disease, notes, transmission, genome and zoonosis.
The most
useful features of the database are the filters. For example, if you want to
find out about viruses that cause respiratory disease in cattle (or cats, dogs,
etc.), just tap the 'Filter' button and set the first filter to 'Species' and
then select 'Cattle' (or cats, dogs, etc.). On the second filter, select
'Disease' and then 'Respiratory.' In seconds, the database will display all the
viruses that cause respiratory disease in cattle. The filters can also be set
to exclude items (e.g. viruses that do NOT cause diarrhea) or to combine them
(e.g. viruses that cause respiratory AND reproductive disease).
